Stormwater Rate Increases

You are already paying for it and you should be mad because it isn’t happening!!
I have spoken often about the need for saltwater canal maintenance especially where the city stormwater is silting in the canals. Some people have commented that they don’t believe those not on canals should not need to pay for dredging. In my opinion to protect property, dredging is needed to remove freshwater to saltwater canal stormwater runoff siltation as a first priority. This runoff is from stormwater drainage from the L section south to the P and part R sections. There are no saltwater canals there but the a large amount of silt from there ends up in the saltwater canals. The stormwater fees include the maintenance of the silt issue in the saltwater canals. As the city is collecting money for maintenance, why has the leadership not properly budgeted for this?
Why aren’t more people mad that their tax dollars aren’t be used for what the city said they would be used for? Is this another area of a lack of transparency?
